About Abby

I’m Abby, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW license #62983) with a passion for fostering healing and growth through genuine connections. At my practice, all identities are not only welcomed but celebrated. I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for your unique journey of healing and growth.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep trust of your inner wisdom about how to heal and change. I use a blend of therapeutic models and frameworks in our work together, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Neurobiology

  • Attachment Styles and Theory

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Somatic Practices

  • Mindfulness Practices

I am deeply informed by the intricate workings of the brain and its capacity for change.

As a relational and trauma-informed therapist, I firmly believe that the therapeutic relationship serves as the cornerstone of the healing journey. I recognize the profound impact of life experiences on our connection with intuition. I am committed to helping you navigate and trust your own wisdom. I bring a mix of directness and warmth cultivated from my roots on the east coast and my time in Texas since 2014.

Specialities

The way I support clients going through fertility challenges and narcissistic abuse recovery is shaped by my own journey. It helps me connect on a deeper, more meaningful level and offer the kind of empathy that only comes from lived experience.

My goal is to help you feel less alone on your journey.

My Professional Journey

In 2016, I earned my graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work. My career as a social worker has been diverse, spanning roles in community mental health settings, where I provided individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as crisis intervention services. Before establishing my private practice, I served as the clinical manager for a team of trauma therapists and interns at a non-profit agency in Austin, TX.

In 2021, I embarked on an exciting journey by establishing my private practice. With a deep commitment to the healing powers of connection, I envisioned a space where clients could receive personalized, attentive, and high-quality care.

Prior to Social Work, I worked as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist providing therapeutic programming to folks with developmental differences. I later became the Deputy Director of a non-profit that served teens and adults with developmental disabilities, and their families.

Beyond Professional Life

Outside of therapy, I’m learning how to garden by making tons of mistakes, binge-watching reality TV, moving my body, hosting friends for dinner and making memories with my wife and little one. I’m also on my own healing journey—imperfect but always growing.
